On Sunday, 20 July 2014, in the evening at 21:26, in Biržų district municipality, on Laisvės street, at the junction with Pastaunyko street, an Audi 80 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.22‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
