On Sunday, 27 July 2014, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 79), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo and a Seat Alhambra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Ford (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.71‰ blood alcohol).
