On Monday, 28 July 2014, at night at 2:33, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 36.33), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 D and an Audi A4. One person died — the 65-year-old driver of the Audi (was not wearing a seatbelt).
