Drunk Scania truck driver in crash with BMW on the Vievis–Žebertonys–Elektrėnai road
On Tuesday, 29 July 2014, in the evening at 17:53, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vievis–Žebertonys–Elektrėnai regional road (kilometre 1), a collision occurred. The collision involved a Scania 6X2 registered in Estonia and a BMW 5ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Estonia) (33 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.55‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
