On Saturday, 2 August 2014, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Šakių district municipality, Girnių village, on the Pilviškiai–Šakiai–Jurbarkas national road (kilometre 30.27), a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a Yamaha CS 50 and a Volkswagen Transporter. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 15-year-old driver of the Yamaha (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
