On Saturday, 9 August 2014, in the evening at 20:30, in Panevėžys, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Statybininkų street, a BMW 320D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the BMW (24 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.14‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
