On Saturday, 9 August 2014, in the evening at 22:50, in Kaunas, on Marvelės street, at the junction with Užnemunės street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW 1er Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
