On Monday, 11 August 2014, in the morning at around 5:00, in Rietavo municipality, Sungailų village, on the Telšiai–Žarėnai–Tverai–Laukuva regional road (kilometre 32.50), a BMW 530 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
