On Tuesday, 12 August 2014, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kaunas, on Baltijos street near No. 6, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Laguna and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Renault (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
