On Wednesday, 13 August 2014, in the afternoon at 15:38, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Skaistgiriai–Pušalotas regional road (kilometre 14.18), a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. Two people were injured — the 17-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.16‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
