On Friday, 15 August 2014, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė national road (kilometre 2.24), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo, an Audi A3 and a Honda CR-V registered in Great Britain. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.13‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
