On Friday, 22 August 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on Laisvės al. near No. 24, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a reversing vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW 530. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (12 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
