On Saturday, 23 August 2014, in the morning at 7:15, in Kretingos district municipality, Joskaudų village, on the Palanga–Lazdininkai regional road (kilometre 8.99), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
