On Friday, 29 August 2014, in the morning at around 9:00, in Utenos district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 40), a Scania R 124L ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Latvia) (8 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
