On Sunday, 31 August 2014, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kauno district municipality, on Čekiškės street, at the junction with Tulpių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 307 registered in Great Britain and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Peugeot (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
