On Wednesday, 27 August 2014, in the evening at 18:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Vandžiogala national road (kilometre 11), a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (10 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules and failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. The 16-year-old driver of a Yamaha DT 50 had no driving licence. The 15-year-old driver of a Suzuki AY 50 had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
