On Monday, 8 September 2014, in the evening at around 19:00, in Šakių district municipality, Zyplių village, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 51.88), a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a Qingqi and a Volkswagen Passat Variant. Two people were injured — the 15-year-old driver of the Qingqi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a helmet) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Qingqi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a helmet). The accident was caused by the 15-year-old driver of the Qingqi, who failed to give way when changing direction. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
