On Tuesday, 9 September 2014, in the afternoon at 13:45, in Klaipėda, on Nidos street near No. 76, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a moped and a Volkswagen Polo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of a moped, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
