On Friday, 12 September 2014, in the evening at 21:27, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Pakruojis–Pasvalys national road (kilometre 55.45), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 44-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by a 44-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). He was drunk (2.33‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
