On Friday, 19 September 2014, in the evening at 22:36, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Velžys–Jotainiai–Pagiriai–Šėta regional road (kilometre 15.04), a bicycle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 60-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by a 60-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He was drunk. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
