On Wednesday, 24 September 2014, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Rietavo municipality, Tverų town, on Rietavo street, at the junction with Žalioji street, a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. One person was injured — the 29-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (11 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
