On Thursday, 25 September 2014, in the afternoon at 15:05, in Kaunas, on Piliakalnio street near No. 19, a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a BMW 316 and a Subaru Legacy Outback. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
