On Wednesday, 1 October 2014, in the morning at 10:40, in Šakių district municipality, on Vytauto street, at the junction with Gimnazijos street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat (16 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
