On Friday, 3 October 2014, in the afternoon at 12:58, in Palanga, on Medvalakio street near No. 21, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Jetta and an Opel Zafira. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.05‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
