On Sunday, 5 October 2014, at night at 0:34, in Pasvalio district municipality, Saločių town, on Laisvės street, at the junction with Laisvės-Liepų, a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.87‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
