On Saturday, 11 October 2014, at night at 4:40, in Šilalės district municipality, Burkėnų village, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 120.19), a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 Avant and a bicycle. One person was injured — a 44-year-old cyclist (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.55‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
