On Monday, 13 October 2014, in the afternoon at 14:52, in Telšių district municipality, on the Telšiai–Varniai–Laukuva national road (kilometre 4), an Audi 80 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Audi (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.80‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
