On Wednesday, 15 October 2014, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vaišvydava–Piliuona–Pakuonis–Pabališkiai regional road (kilometre 2), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 607 and a Land Rover Range Rover Sport. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
