On Tuesday, 28 October 2014, in the evening at around 19:00, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Naujakiemio street, a BMW 320D hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 57-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
