On Sunday, 2 November 2014, in the evening at 19:21, in Mažeikių district municipality, Tirkšlių town, on J. Janonio street, at the junction with Laukų street, a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved a Seat Toledo and a Renault Megane. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Seat (a citizen of Latvia), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.29‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene.
