On Tuesday, 11 November 2014, in the afternoon at 14:58, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Privažiuojamasis kelias prie Nemenčinės regional road (kilometre 1.40), a Saab 9000 ran off the road. Two people died — the 57-year-old driver of the Saab (was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 47-year-old passenger of the Saab. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Saab (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.49‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
