On Sunday, 23 November 2014, in the afternoon at 13:50, in Kelmės district municipality, on Naujoji street near No. 7, a BMW 320D hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 35-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the BMW (19 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
