On Saturday, 6 December 2014, in the evening at around 19:00, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on Vilniaus street near No. 71, a Volkswagen Golf hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.09‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
