On Monday, 8 December 2014, at night at around 23:00, in Panevėžys, on Smėlynės street, at the junction with S. Kerbedžio street, a Mazda MX-3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
