On Monday, 8 December 2014, in the evening at 22:08, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 299), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 323 and a Toyota RAV4. Two people were injured — the 24-year-old driver of the Mazda (hospitalized) and a 26-year-old passenger of the Mazda (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Mazda (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
