On Saturday, 13 December 2014, in the evening at 18:12, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Ukmergė–Molėtai national road (kilometre 16.75), a BMW hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 52-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by a 52-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
