On Monday, 15 December 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, Gruzdžių town, on F. Vaitkaus street near No. 7, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Xantia and a BMW 318. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Citroen, who failed to keep a safe distance. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
