On Tuesday, 23 December 2014, in the evening at around 22:00, in Panevėžys, on Vasario 16-osios street near No. 11, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 607, a Ford Focus, a Toyota Corolla, a Volkswagen Golf Variant registered in Denmark, a Volkswagen Golf and a BMW 330 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to comply with road signs or markings. He was drunk (1.60‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
