On Friday, 26 December 2014, in the morning at 6:40, in Švenčionių district municipality, on Švenčionėlių street, a BMW 525 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
