On Monday, 29 December 2014, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl. near No. 62, an Audi A4 Avant hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 16-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
