On Monday, 5 January 2015, in the evening at around 17:00, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 164), a Renault Trafic rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 59-year-old pedestrian, who committed traffic rule violations that contributed to the accident and was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). He was drunk (2.09‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
