On Saturday, 10 January 2015, at night at 2:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 21.80), a Volvo FH12 registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volvo (a citizen of Latvia) (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
