On Saturday, 17 January 2015, in the evening at 22:31, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 29.80), a BMW 525 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
