On Sunday, 8 February 2015, in the afternoon at 15:04, in Kretingos district municipality, Joskaudų village, on V. Jurgučio street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Fiat 22 (LANCIA) (LANCIA Z) and a Volvo V40. Five people were injured — a 16-year-old passenger of the Fiat (a citizen of Ukraine) (treated as an outpatient), a 34-year-old passenger of the Volvo (hospitalized), a 22-year-old passenger of the Fiat (a citizen of Russia) (treated as an outpatient), a 63-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient) and a 7-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient, was not in a child seat). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Fiat (a citizen of Ukraine) (7 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
