On Friday, 20 February 2015, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Kretingos district municipality, on Rotušės a., at the junction with Birutės street, a Volkswagen Golf hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 9-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (12 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties and failed to choose a safe speed.
