On Saturday, 21 February 2015, in the evening at 18:28, in Plungės district municipality, on A. Jucio street near No. 42, a Citroen C5 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 84-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Citroen (1 year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (0.13‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
