On Thursday, 26 February 2015, in the afternoon at 14:19, in Kaunas, on Maironio street, at the junction with Kęstučio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Land Cruiser registered in Estonia and a Volkswagen Passat. Two people were injured — a 19-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 20-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Toyota (a citizen of Romania) (9 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. Both drivers were sober.
