On Thursday, 5 March 2015, in the morning at around 10:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Kvėdarnos village, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 99.53), a BMW 530 D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. She had no driving licence. The driver was sober. A 30-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.59‰). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
