On Saturday, 21 March 2015, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr. near No. 172, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford 12 M Turnier registered in Germany and a Volkswagen Sharan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Ford (15 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
