On Saturday, 28 March 2015, in the evening at 21:40, in Kupiškio district municipality, on Krantinės street near No. 4, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Skoda Yeti. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Audi (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
